Just as finding a diamond in the rough benefits the team, avoiding a high-priced player that doesn't produce can also save a fantasy team.

These are the National Football League players who have big names, but won’t produce in a big way this season. Avoid them at all costs. Now that’s not saying that there aren’t others to avoid. Of course, avoid the likes of Ochocinco and Terrell Owens and those type of trouble makers. I’m glad none of my fantasy leagues draft defensive players because then I’d have to talk about Albert Haynesworth.

The Busts

1. Peyton Hillis (RB) Cleveland – Nearly everyone saw the writing on the wall at the end year when his productive went down and he began to fumble more. Now Montario Hardesty is healthy so adios Peyton.

2. Matt Cassell (QB) Kansas City – I’ve never been sold on Cassell or the Chiefs’ passing offense. They are going to hand off to Jamaal Charles as much as they can.

3. Brandon Lloyd (WR) Denver – He was a great sleeper last year. He came from nowhere to have a spectacular year. He’s not going to do it again. Many of those game he produced big, the Broncos were way behind.

4. Dwayne Bowe (WR) Kansas City – As I said before, I’m not sold on Kansas City’s offense. I have never been sold on Bowe. He need to step up his game a bit.

5. Maurice Jones-Drew (RB) Jacksonville – I’m not convinced he’s back from his injury. Many people are rating him very high, but I’d beware of spending a high pick on him.

6. Santana Moss (WR) Washington – I’m not sure he’d repeat his 93 receptions of last year, but, with Donovan McNabb moving to Minnesota, who is going to throw to Moss? John Beck?

7. Kenny Britt (WR) Tennessee – The Titans are shaky at the quarterback spot and Britt has been having trouble saying on the good side of the law. A bad combination.

8. Donovan McNabb (QB) Minnesota – He’s at the end of the line. I bet he doesn’t make through the season as a starter. Minnesota is where old quarterbacks go to retire.

9. Joseph Addai (RB) Indianapolis – He’s had his chances. He’s steadily declining and they have Donald Brown and Delone Carter to share the running duties. Even if he’s healthy, it is still a backfield by committee.

10. Pierre Thomas (RB) New Orleans – Speaking of a backfield by committee. Thomas ran well when he had the chance, but the Saints picked up Darren Sproles and drafted Mark Ingram. Thomas can only hope for what happened last – a handful of injuries to other runners.

Stay away from these question marks, unless you can get them late in the draft. However, that is not going to happen. These guys will go higher in fantasy drafts than what they should. Not everyone is going to listen to me.
