I teach writing. I travel and take photos. - Terry Pruyne

I wrote for my high school and college newspapers on my way to teaching degrees in English and History. Later, I received a Masters Degree in Education. I continued in the field of journalism, working for the Daily Review (Towanda, PA), The Morning Times (Sayre, PA), and The Star-Gazette (Elmira, NY). I covered everything from sports, local governement, human interest to a travel column called "Travels with Terry." Today, I work for the Daily Review in the fall covering local football and basketball games. In 2001, McFarland Publishing published my first book, Sports Nicknames: 20,000 Professionals Worldwide, a reference about athlete nicknames. The American Library Association called my book "a specialized but comprehensive reference source for all libraries that can afford it." I have revised the book, adding over 5,000 nickname and I'm looking for a publisher.

I am also an avid photographer. That a look at my sports and nature photos.

I received my teaching degrees at Mansfield University. I taught English and Writing at Elmira College in Elmira, NY and at Mansfield University in Mansfield, Pa. Currently, I teach English at a high school in the Finger Lakes Region of New York. I was co-adviser with the school yearyook that won a 2009 National Scholastic Press Association Yearbook Pacemaker.
